Firewall Software vs Firewall Router

Hi All,

Is there any real advantage to have both activated?

    If someone breaks through the router (including if you do something to let your system get compromised inside your network), then having a software firewall on your systems inside the firewall stops any internal attack!

    Just having the router locked down is like only having the outer doors to your office building locked. Once someone's in, they can go where ever they want in the building. Having both up results in compartmentalized security. Even though they get through the outer doors, the office doors are all locked too. At least that's the general idea...
